Get A Glimpse Of ‘American Idol’ Performance Night On Dish Network

Article by Richard Lindholm

Once again it was performance night on ‘American Idol’. If you want to get a little scoop of the show you can read on and get a glimpse of the gala performances. The season 9 of the show is turning out to be a close call as the contenders are being tested with the songs from Elvis Presley. Before the show, the contenders were sent to Adam Lambert for a brief mentoring. With his guidance, the performers poured out the best in them with their versions of Elvis tunes.

We can start with Crystal Bowersox. She has already proved herself as the most potential winner of the title this season. Working on Lambert’s advice, she played on electric guitar in exchange of acoustic guitar. But some DISH TV viewers feel that she is starting to become boring. Do doubt, she sang the song ‘saved’ from Elvis brilliantly but she lacks the vitality and the vigor expected from a million dollar performer! She sang the song standing before the mike and a guitar in hand just like the previous shows. It’s no strange that this time too she got praise for her singing but these too are seemingly boring. It’s sound like a broken record repeatedly being played. Fantastic, amazing, solid are word being poured on her by judges. But whatever be their decisions, some DISH Network viewers are criticizing that she is brilliant to hear but not an exciting performer to watch for.

Next comes Andrew Garcia. He was one of the bottom three contenders of the last week along with Michael Lynche and Aaron Kelley. Some of the viewers of DISH TV believes he will be in the bottom 3 this week too if not voted off. He sang ‘hound dog’ of Elvis but his version of the song was not all touchy. Only Ellen showered some praise on her saying she ‘liked the change’. But another judge Simon said it was a lazy performance.

Tim Urban has been improving consistently and this week is not an exception. Though he never seems to come close to Bowersox or Casey James, this week’s performance of him proved many of the DISH TV viewers wrong. The song ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ was beautifully sung and the touchy voice of him made all emotional. Kara said this to be the best of his performances and Simon told him that he is going from 0 to hero.

The performance of Lee DeWyze was good. Even the judges loved it. But some of the DISH Network viewers feel if he does not bring something new and fresh little chance for him to be saved for the coming episodes.

Aaron Kelley is the next to come. The 16 year old was on the bottom 3 but had got enough votes to secure his position for a week. But some viewers on Satellite TV still believe that he sounds like a kid trying to play the grown up part on the show. His version of the song ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ was not satisfactory. Some DISH TV viewers also want him to be voted off the next week.

Siobhan Magnus overwhelmed all the judges with her amazing vocal. But in spite of her remarkable voice her version of the song ‘Suspicious Minds’ didn’t work. Satellite TV viewers suggest that she has to work hard if she wants to stay in the race

After last week’s huge surprise of Michael’s being voted off and then being saved by the judges, all eyes were upon him. He performed up to the expectation and his version of the song ‘In the Ghetto’ was just amazing! Even Ellen said, “I’m glad we saved you”.

Last week the performance of Katie Stevens was great but this week she just got it all wrong. Her version of the song ‘Baby, what you want me to do’ was hardly any song. Rather it was a much like a loud noise as if jazz band is blaring in the background. Simon described the song as ‘loud and annoying’.

Casey James performed nicely on yesterday’s show. His version of the song ‘Lawdy Miss Clawdy’ was just perfect. However, some DISH Network viewers believe that it was perfect but predictable.

With Michael Lynche being saved by the judges, the result night will see two eliminations! Based on the performance night show, the predications for the bottom 3 can be Andrew Garcia, Katie Stevens and Aaron Kelley. However, you yourself can catch all the excitement of the results day on your DISH Network channel.

Celine Dion – Elton John – Jerry Seinfeld Join for One-of-a-Kind Performance to Aid Hurricane-Affected Families – Feb. 20, 2006, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

Las Vegas (PRWEB) December 1, 2005

Three of the world’s most popular entertainers – Celine Dion, Elton John and Jerry Seinfeld – will join for a one-night-only performance at Caesars Palace, on Monday, February 20, 2006. The Presidents Day evening gala in the resort’s Colosseum will benefit the recovery fund for hurricane-affected employees of the resort’s parent company, Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET).

“We are deeply grateful to Celine, Elton and Jerry for the generosity that will create a once-in-a-lifetime entertainment experience for our guests and sustain the important work that is helping thousands of Gulf Coast families get their lives back,” said Gary Loveman, chairman, president and chief executive officer for Harrah’s Entertainment.

Shortly after Hurricane Katrina closed Harrah’s casino/resorts in Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi, and in New Orleans, Louisiana, the company seeded an Employee Recovery Fund with a donation of $ 1 million from the Harrah’s Foundation. With added donations from employees, guests and industry associates, the total has grown to $ 3 million, and has expanded to assist Hurricane Rita-affected employees of Harrah’s, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Funds are deployed in regional resource centers, directly to Gulf Coast employees through the company’s 501-3-c non-profit foundation.

At Caesars Palace, Celine Dion stars in “A New Day…,” Elton John performs “The Red Piano,” and Jerry Seinfeld presents his acclaimed stand-up comedy. The three world renowned performers form the core of the resort’s headliner policy, which has been responsible for Pollstar magazine ranking The Colosseum among the top two ticket selling venues of any size in the United States (Pollstar, Jan. 2004, Jan. 2005).

Tickets, priced from $ 100 to $ 1,000 (plus tax and handling fee), will go on sale at 10 a.m. PST on Friday, December 2, 2005, at Ticketmaster outlets, online at http://www.ticketmaster.com and in person at the Caesars Palace Box Office.

Sponsor packages that include luxury hotel accommodations, premium seating, fine dining and a pre-show VIP reception in PURE nightclub at Caesars Palace also are available online at http://www.caesarspalace.com.
